Bridesmaid Dresses

Bridesmaid dress shopping starts March 2020

I have started to look at bridesmaid dresses. Following the colour theme of the wedding, they will be in a Greyish Blue. However depending on the Groom/Groomsmen suites they may be a light "sky" Blue.

The dresses I have looked at so far

  • picture of 5 dresses : From Wed2Be (inside NEXT at Arndale) limited colours, light blue (pictured) is the best for theme.
Belle: Ugly & frumpy.

Eden: Don't mind an off shoulder but looks a little frumpy.

Haven: Looked nice, depends on body shape though.

Laila: Sits nice and has a lovely back.

Thea: Nice but could be a little restrictive on legs for dancing.

Having seen the dresses, Laila was the best choice. the back was lovely and it looks to sit well on the body.

Have to order it soon with fast delivery.

Shoes
Heals can be worn, but advised a pair of flat shoes/sandals for the evening.
colours: nudes, beige/cream, silver, light blue

(Above picture is Laguna beach, theme colour inspo picture) I have added the wedding theme moodboard and any other ideas for the wedding. With myself being part English, Scottish & German, I have decided to incorporate a bit of ceilidh dancing (like American barn dancing only better) otherwise its pretty much a Californian styled wedding. Clothes Bridesmaids: Blue Groom/Groom smen: Blueish G rey or Cream/Beige Decoration Decor: Eucalyptus/Sage Green & Natural White Pop Colour: Coral (Pinky/Orangy hue) Flowers Wedding Bouquets: A mix of green eucalyptus foliage with coral flowers / green eucalyptus foliage with white & coral flowers Button Hole: green eucalyptus foliage with a coral flower Decoration Flowers: Mainly green eucalyptus foliage with a scattering of white flowers and the odd coral flower.

Dress shop visits and possibilities The White Closet (West Didsbury) Visit 1: Thursday 18th July 2019 Too expensive for what it was. Seen better since Maria Modes (Macclesfield) Visit 1: Saturday 21st September 2019 Tried a few dresses. 2 possible dresses: Maggie Sottero & Rebecca Ingram Will look at a few more shops and retry the 2 dresses to decide closer to the time Visit 2: Saturday 11th January 2020 Seen a Maggie Sottero dress. Will ask if the have it in for the viewing. (update: Don't have dress would get it in for early feb, so dress is off the list) Tried on the dresses again. Rebecca Ingram : However nice, it isn't the one. Its too traditional and doesn't follow the theme. Maggie Sottero : Still love the flotyness of the dress. It decently has presence. The one from this shop to be the final decision choice. Cheadle Bride (Cheadle) Visit 1: Tuesday 10th December 2019 Contacted & visited to see an Essence of Australia dress. They only had 1 of the 2 I enquired about but said they could loan it in for £30. 1-2 possible dresses: Essense of Australia (seen) & Essense of Australia (loan) Visit 2: Saturday 11th January 2020 The got the Essense dress in on loan for me to try Essense of Australia (Previously seen) : Still looked lovely but unsure if I like the material. The dress is in a moscato underskirt with ivory over the top so looks slightly coloured. Would want dress in all ivory. Essense of Australia (loan) : Amazing dress, the photos make me look amazing in it. the dress is magical. Was unsure about the colour,Its also Ivory over moscato like the other dress, but it has grown on me in this dress, as it makes the dress look amazing. The one from this shop to be the final decision choice.
